Have you wondered what makes up your pay?

The increment you’re getting could be worth more, or less than what you’re really getting. An increment from $3,000 to $3,300 may not simply equate to a $300 increment. Taking into account CPF contribution from employer and taking away income tax, the net increment is approximately $340. That’s $40 more!

On the other hand, an increment from $8,000 to $10,000 is a mere $1,700 increment as opposed to the perceived value of $2,000. Arm yourself with the financial insight of your pay components and you may never over- or under-budget again.
