You perform technical intelligence collection and analysis of cyber threats that are targeting, or of interest to, MINDEF/SAF and other MINDEF-related organisations. On this, you propose and implement technical solutions to enhance MINDEF/SAF’s defence against the cyber threats. Your challenge lies in understanding the sector’s operating environment and cyber threat landscape to sieve out relevant threats for further analysis and investigations.
You maintain situational awareness of cyber incidents happening in the Defence ecosystem. You also oversee all information piped from Defence sectors to the Security Ops Centre (SOC) and correlate voluminous alerts across the different security solutions to make assessments. On this, you perform duty in the 24/7 SOC and develop standard operating procedures to identify and mitigate cyber threats. You also prepare cyber security reports and monitor health status of security solutions. Your challenge lies in having to make independent assessments, time-critical decisions, follow escalation procedures and carry out immediate response action upon detection of a cyber threat.
MINDEF/SAF in the mainstream media, online platforms and other emerging/notable platforms and genres, as well as creating and maintaining a repository of research portfolios to facilitate information campaign planning. You also develop and enhance methods to measure the effectiveness of the MINDEF Communications Organisation’s (MCO) messaging efforts so that they remain relevant, targeted and effective. Beyond generating long-cycle information trends to support MCO’s plans and publicity efforts, you also prepare periodic analysis reports for milestone MINDEF/SAF events. Additionally, you support research efforts to develop an in-depth understanding of key target audiences. Your challenge lies in being perceptive and judicious in deciphering relevant data in an increasingly-saturated and rapidly-evolving information environment.
You are part of the cyber threat response team that performs digital forensic and analysis functions, such as data acquisition, data recovery and forensic investigation of infected systems and mobile devices. You also provide expert advice on measures to recover systems, patch vulnerabilities or enhance threat detection, and are the strategic reserve to lead the investigations of cyber security incidents in defence networks. Your challenge lies in constantly staying ahead of developments in computing technologies and cyber exploitation/ attack techniques.

You lead a team of communications specialists to formulate, coordinate and execute public communications strategies and plans in support of MINDEF/SAF’s communications objectives. On this, you work with relevant agencies to conceptualise public communications plans, methods of execution and relevant publicity collaterals for various MINDEF/SAF events. You also manage the dissemination of information that goes to the local and foreign media, in both peacetime and emergency. Your challenge lies in demonstrating sensitivity to policy implications and objectives, and having an in-depth understanding of operational considerations so as to enable effective translation of policy intent to operational actions.
You plan and conduct audits on the Information Technology (IT) systems in MINDEF/SAF. On this, you evaluate control environments in IT applications and furnish management with analysis, appraisals, and recommendations on the IT systems reviewed. You also provide risk analysis for remedial measures. Your challenge lies in keeping abreast of the emerging technologies in corporate IT systems in MINDEF, and tailoring the audit programme to align with the new demands.

Assistant Manager/Manager, Circulation Marketing
Your main responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities and expanding new channels to optimize circulation sales. You will implement sales strategies to increase market share and grow existing revenue, execute and launch circulation marketing plans and sales activities i.e. acquisition and retention programmes. You will also work with respective magazine team lead to produce creative and effective marketing collateral, and negotiate with channel owners to increase presence of magazine titles on the retail front. You need to forge alliances and partnerships with other organizations to drive magazine subscriptions, and conduct regular newsstand checks in Singapore to identify new outlet testing and display opportunities.
In addition, you are required to liaise with internal sources and external distributors/agents regularly. You will need to collate and analyze reports to monitor sales performance and marketing campaigns. You will also provide monthly sales charts to the management and manage sampling strategy of magazines.
d/lab is a team set up to test & develop new products in areas of opportunity identified within the SPH landscape. These products should solve real user painpoints, tap on SPH's existing strengths, and be able to demonstrate traction with its target audiences.
Together with your teammates, you will apply your creative energies to generate potential solutions and run ideas through a structured innovation process together with relevant stakeholders. Ideas must be validated and developed into recommendations to the Business if we should a) adopt the idea b) invest more resources or c) pursue other ideas.
As a key member of the core team, you would strategise and design the best ways to obtain these ideas, prioritise which to pursue, design how to do so and pivot or cycle through as necessary. You will guide the teams from a user's mindset, taking ownership for the design and development of commercially viable products - building businesses of the future.
